Eastwood Village Medical Practice – Speech Pathologist

We are dedicated to supporting your child’s communication development from an early age. Our experienced speech pathologist works with children who presents with unclear speech sounds, use very few words and/or short sentences, struggle with following instructions, or get easily frustrated when trying to communicate. Support is also available for those who stutter (i.e. repeat sounds or words when talking), feel lonely with not many friends, or are falling behind with their reading and spelling skills at school.

In a strength-based and neurodiversity affirming environment, our therapist provides individualised strategies and therapy plan to help your child improve their talking, listening, social and/or literacy skills, to enhance their confidence and participation in their environments.

Denise is a Certified Practising Speech Pathologist who has extensive experience working with children and families in Sydney, rural and remote areas in Australia.

She is passionate about client-centred care that she emphasises on the collaboration with her clients when delivering evidence-based therapy, to bring improvements in children’s communication and learning. She values developing strong therapeutic relationships with her clients in her service which is crucial to achieve positive treatment outcomes. Denise is keen to support the neurodivergent population, celebrate and support the unique strengths and perspectives of each child.

In her undergraduate studies, Denise has developed a strong passion on English linguistics, language acquisition and multilingualism. Coming from a multilingual background herself, she is passionate about supporting other multilingual families in Australia and helping them preserve their home languages and cultures, while facilitating their children’s communication development.

Denise is experienced in offering speech pathology assessment and therapy in various ways, including individual and group therapy, parent and educators’ training. She mainly works with preschooler and primary school-aged children. Her special interests include language, speech sounds, early literacy, social skills and fluency.

Services can be provided in-person (at clinic/client’s home or school) or via telehealth.

When she is not at work, she enjoys watching movies and cooking for her family.
